Michael Shettel

Michael Shettel, Vice President of Design for Alfred Angelo, began his career in New York City while attending the Fashion Institute of Technology. During his schooling, he received awards from fashion icons such as Giorgio Sant'Angelo, Arnold Scassi and Hubert de Givenchy.

Michael's boundless creativity, passion and intense appreciation of the arts have provided him with the opportunity to work with fashion greats such as Shirley Goodman, Founder of FIT; Diana Vreeland at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum Art; Tommy Hilfiger; Irving Penn and Hubert de Givenchy in Paris. Michael's reputation and solid ties to the industry afforded him continued honors, such as working on the Givenchy 30 Year Retrospective in New York and Paris.

Since 1999, Michael has traveled coast to coast leading Alfred Angelo into the new millennium. Michael's knowledge of fashion, keen eye for trends and ability to translate a bride's vision into beautiful collections season after season has made Alfred Angelo one of the most recognized and sought after names in bridal.

When designing bridal collections, Michael looks at every woman as an individual inspiration. He feels that a woman should be center stage on her wedding day and her unique characteristics should shine through with her choice of gown. His spirit and enthusiasm keep the Alfred Angelo collections fresh, fashion forward and timeless for thousands of brides across the globe.

Michael has appeared on Good Morning America, Get Married TV, E! and the Knot LIVE. His multifaceted bridal designs have scored the covers of magazines, such as Brides, Bridal Guide, The Knot, Get Married, Destination Weddings and Honeymoons, Martha Stewart Weddings, InStyle Weddings, Modern Bride, Elegant Bride. His designs for Alfred Angelo can also be seen in the films House of Sand and Fog, The Getaway and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
