What's the difference between Disney's Escape and Wishes Weddings?
Escape Weddings are complete wedding and honeymoon packages designed for the bride and groom. They typically include a small ceremony with cake and a champagne toast, floral for the bride and groom, a musician for the ceremony and champagne toast, and a photography package. Escape Weddings can accommodate up to eighteen guests at the ceremony. Wishes Weddings are personalized events that allow the bride and groom to design a wedding ceremony and private reception at a selection of Walt Disney World Resort locations. Because these are more elaborate events, minimum expenditures will apply. There are also certain food and beverage and room night minimums. Your Disney Wedding Specialist will work with you to establish a budget that meets all these requirements.

Is there a deposit required for a Disney Wedding?
Yes, depending on which collection you choose: An Escape Wedding requires a $1,000 non-refundable deposit. The balance of the package price and additional elements are due 30 days prior to your arrival date.

A deposit of $2,000 are required for Wishes Weddings in order to confirm your event space and begin planning your event and reserving hotel room accommodations at special discounted rates. A signed Letter of Agreement along with a minimum non-refundable deposit will be required to confirm your wedding date. This non-refundable deposit will be applied to the minimum cost requirement of your Disney wedding.

The minimum expenditure will be due 90 days in advance and the full estimated payment (payable by check, money order, Disney Reward Visa® Card from Chase, or other accepted credit cards) of your even is due one month prior to the wedding date. You will receive a detailed Letter of Agreement that will further explain the payment schedule and deposit amounts.

When can I reserve my wedding date?
Wishes Weddings at all locations can be booked 12 months in advance of your event date (based on availability). For Escape Wedding events, all available locations can be booked up to eight (8) months in advance.

Does Disney offer any kind of photography and videography service for my event?
We are pleased to offer Disney Photographic Services to capture the magical memories of your special event. A wide range of styles and packages is available. In addition, your Disney photography and videography purchase will count toward your minimum Wishes Weddings expenditure.

I love Mickey and Minnie. Could they act as Best Man and Maid of Honor at our wedding?
We're sorry, but our famous Disney Characters are not available to participate in the actual ceremony in any way. However, they'd be delighted to attend your reception to mingle with guests, pose for unforgettable photographs, "cut in" on the first dance, and even help you cut the cake. Character appearances are available in 30-minute increments and count toward your minimum Wedding expenditure.

Is there a spa where my friends and I can pamper ourselves before the big day?
Ah, yes. Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is located just next door to Disney's Wedding Pavilion as well as our newest spa at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. There you can take advantage of all the latest spa therapies, treatments, and beauty regimens. And the guys might appreciate a massage, too! You might also want to arrange a massage in the "couples" room for the day after your event -- the ultimate indulgence!

Where can I purchase the CD version of Disney's Instrumental Impressions featuring instrumental arrangements of Disney love songs? I love this CD and want it for my collection.
We are glad that you enjoy the music selections from this fine CD from Walt Disney Records! It is available at select Walt Disney World® Merchandise locations as well as online music stores such as Amazon.com, iTunes, etc.

We are considering a Walt Disney World® Honeymoon. Does Disney offer any Honeymoon plans?

Wishes Wedding Questions

Is it proper etiquette to have my guests pay for their own rooms?
Absolutely! It is not customary for the bride and groom to pay the travel or room expenses of their invited guests. In fact, your guests are sure to appreciate the offer of discounted room rates and specially priced Walt Disney World® Theme Park tickets.

Are my guests required to stay at the Walt Disney World® Resort? Will they receive a discounted room rate?
Your guests may stay wherever they please. However, in order to make it easy and affordable for them to attend your special Disney event, we are pleased to offer discounted room rates available throughout the Walt Disney World® Resort. Based on your estimated number of guests, you must guarantee a minimum number of room nights at Walt Disney World owned and operated Resorts. Your Disney Wedding Specialist will be happy to discuss these minimums in detail to ensure your comfort level.

What about Walt Disney World® Theme Park tickets?
We are pleased to offer specially priced Walt Disney World® Resort ticket options for your wedding guests. To make it even easier, your guests can pre-purchase their tickets directly through your personalized wedding website or by calling (407) 939-7693, and have them delivered to their home or their Walt Disney World® Resort Hotel.

Is childcare available? We're planning an adults-only wedding.
Certainly. A number of options are available, ranging from in-room baby-sitting to themed children's parties held concurrently in a room adjacent to your celebration. In addition, many Walt Disney World® Resort hotels offer on-site children's "clubs." Ask your Disney Wedding Specialist.

Can Disney supply all the wedding services I'll need?
Yes. One of the best things about a Wishes Collection Wedding is that you'll have the vast resources of the Walt Disney World® Resort at your fingertips. Will transportation be available for my guests on the day of our wedding?
Disney's Wedding Pavilion is not on the Walt Disney World® Resort transportation system. To ensure the safety of your guests and the timeliness of your event, a Luxury Motorcoach Charter rental is available at an additional fee. Charter bus transportation allows for direct and easy access to the entire wedding event for your guests as well as a return to their Walt Disney World Resort Hotel at the conclusion of your celebration. In addition, the bus runs continuously throughout the event, giving those with small children or those who wish to return early (or stay late!) the opportunity to do so.

Can I have a Catholic ceremony and be married by a priest?
Although Disney's Wedding Pavilion is non-denominational, the official Orlando Catholic Diocese position is that no wedding ceremonies will be recognized outside the Catholic Church. We encourage you to speak with your personal clergy about your situation.

Can Disney theme my Wishes Collection Wedding?
Sure! In fact, it's our specialty. Many locations provide an "instant theme," such as the Living Seas Lounge at Epcot®, or any of the Epcot® Pavilions, including France, Japan, the Rose Garden in the United Kingdom, Italy, and Canada. Or how about a 1940s Americana theme with swing-dancing at Atlantic Dance at Disney's BoardWalk Resort or the ultimate Cinderella fantasy in the Magic Kingdom® Park? In the past, couples have created amazing themed environments including a fog-shrouded "Midsummer Night's Dream" enchanted forest, Cinderella's Ball, and even a "Winter Wonderland" complete with an "ice-skating pond" for a dance floor. The possibilities are as endless as the imagination.

What makes a Disney wedding so unique?
The real "magic" surrounding a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding (any wedding for that matter) is the reunion of family and friends in such a special environment--creating cherished memories that will last forever! However, many of our couples incorporate special touches that reflect the location or "theme"--for a Cinderella wedding many choose a wedding cake with a white chocolate Castle as the topper...serve dessert in a white chocolate Cinderella slipper filled with mousse on a castle-design plate. Use music as a key element to set the tone or carry out the theme, many of our couples choose classic Disney Love songs for their first dance or ceremony music!

Themed Weddings

I am interested in hosting my wedding at Disney, but am not sure that I want to have a "Disney" theme; do you have any other ideas?
A theme could also involve how or where the couple met, their cultural heritage, a favorite childhood movie or story, common passions of the bride & groom, special talents, favorite cuisine or even a favorite color, flower or song! It is important to choose one central theme and stick to it-become inspired by a certain element and let that be the focus of your planning. If it is a color, for example, incorporate it into every aspect of your event-invitations, programs, menu cards, bridesmaid's gowns, flowers, room decor, favors etc! Many of our wedding couples use resources such as their local specialty card & gift stores, bridal salons, music & book stores, libraries and of course, the internet!

What are the different types of theme weddings available at Disney?
We have hosted such a wide variety of "themed" weddings--each of them different and unique. We have hosted Medieval weddings, Winter Wonderland Weddings, a "Mad Hatter's Tea Party" Wedding, "Beauty & the Beast" Ball Weddings, a "Hollywood Grandeur" Wedding, "Under the Sea Weddings" at the Living Seas Pavilion, a Native-American "Pocahontas" Wedding at Fort Wilderness and weddings in many of the countries around the World Showcase in Epcot® --to name just a few! Does my Disney Wedding have to be themed?
Weddings at Walt Disney World® Resort often incorporate a theme, but, many times they do not!! For us, the "destination wedding" trend is what has increased dramatically in popularity! People are focusing on reuniting families and friends for a weekend of festivities surrounding the wedding celebration. The Walt Disney World® Resort is a unique location that is neutral (in the case of interfaith marriages and "blended" families) and offers a wide variety of activities and locations for the Wedding couple and their guests. Most couples have a large majority of guests traveling to attend their wedding regardless of the location, and the appeal of Walt Disney World® Resort is that it is a fun meeting spot for all involved!

Can I customize my Couture Collection Wedding?
Absolutely. While David Tutera worked closely with Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings to design four unique styles, each one is able to be customized to fit your individual style and taste. Am I required to have a Couture ceremony and a Couture reception?
No. If you prefer, you may choose to only incorporate David Tutera's designs into your wedding reception.

What is the difference between a Wishes Wedding and a Couture Wedding event?
Wishes Weddings are personalized events that allow the bride and groom to design a wedding ceremony and private reception at the Walt Disney World® Resort location of their choice. There are certain food and beverage and room night minimums. Your Disney Wedding Specialist will work with you to establish a budget that meets these requirements. A Couture Wedding Collection allows you to host a celebrity-styled affair at a non-celebrity price. For the sophisticated and modern couple, incorporating a David Tutera design into your wedding event is sure to leave your guests speechless at the amazing décor (including full wall draping), incredible lighting, and stylish accents, which are woven seamlessly throughout your big day! There are four main styles to choose from (exclusive to Disney's Couture Collection by David Tutera), that you are able to customize to fit your personal taste and style.

Escape Weddings

How much planning time is necessary for an Escape Wedding?
Because Escape Weddings are an elegant and simple affair for 18 or less guests, our experts have selected some of the most popular floral, cake and music selections for you to pick from to make your wedding planning stress free. Your Disney Wedding Specialist will review the event day itinerary and any special transportation needs for you and your guests. You will receive an online planning kit that will need to be completed in order to make your wedding planning stress free. If it would be helpful, your Disney Wedding Specialist will arrange for a Floral Specialist to discuss any floral questions.

Even though I'm planning an Escape Wedding, can I do something special for my guests?
Absolutely, we have specific times throughout the week where our wedding experts can offer an enhancement to your wedding cake cutting with a limited array of hors d'oeuvres and beverages. Your online planning kit will provide you with a list of enhancement options. In addition, you can also host a private brunch, lunch or dinner for your Guests at one of our Resorts. Or maybe you are looking to 'wow' your Guests with a dessert party with fireworks viewing. Please contact your Disney Wedding Planner for more information on adding an experience to your Escape Wedding. Please note that a minimum food & beverage expenditure will be required for these events.

I have 21 guests. Can I have an Escape Wedding?
We are sorry, but service quality issues require that we limit Escape Weddings to parties of twenty or fewer, including the bride and groom. If you would like to have more than twenty guests, we invite you to look into a Wishes Wedding.

I'm planning an Escape Wedding. Is there a "minimum stay" requirement? How many guests can I invite?
Disney's Escape Wedding packages require a minimum of a four* night stay (for the couple) at an owned and operated Walt Disney World Resort. For additional guests, up to 18 maximum additional elements are at an additional cost (note: some ceremony locations have a maximum occupancy of 10 guests.) You can also choose one of the following locations for your ceremony: Disney's Wedding Pavilion, Sea Breeze Point at Disney's BoardWalk Resort, the Wedding Gazebo at Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Sunset Pointe at Disney's Polynesian Resort, or Sunrise Terrace at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.
*(From January 2, 2012 – September 29 2012 the minimum stay will be two (2) nights at a owned and operated Walt Disney World Resort.)

We would like to have our wedding at Disney. We both speak English, but our mother language is Spanish and so is our guests'. Can you provide us with a Spanish-speaking Officiant?
