Makaloa Garden can accommodate 2-500 guests for your Wedding Ceremony, making it an intimate affair or a lavish celebration.
Can I have my ceremony on the beach?
We thought you'd never ask! Yes, we are happy to discuss options to host your ceremony on Aulani Beach.
Are there any other locations to have a ceremony?
Absolutely! Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa is a beautiful Resort complete with several diverse locations to host your ceremony and reception. Your Disney Wedding Planner will be happy to share more details with you and help you bring your vision to life.
What is the view from the Wedding Lawn?
The enchanting wedding experience is borne from Hawai'i's natural beauty…the fragrant, colorful flowers…the shimmering ocean…the pure endless sky and romantic sunsets. These natural wonders, woven together will create a breathtaking backdrop.
Is décor provided with my ceremony?
Yes! Included in your Wishes Wedding Package is the Signature Aulani Arch and white garden chairs. You are encouraged to enhance your location through décor if you wish. In the spirit of simple and effortless planning, for our Memories Collection, let the surrounding be your décor! In some locations décor cannot be accommodated. Please check with your Disney Wedding Specialist for more information.
Do I need audio at the Wedding Lawn?
Yes! You will receive Audio Support with your Wedding Package. Included in the Audio Support are wireless microphones for the Groom and Officiant.
Are chairs provided for the ceremony?
Folding chairs are included in your Wishes Wedding Package so that your guests will enjoy your beautiful ceremony from the Wedding Lawn. Chairs are not included in our Memories Collection event, however chairs can be added in certain locations for an additional fee.
Can I take pictures on the beach?
Yes! After your ceremony, the Bride and Groom may take photos on the beach. However, it is a shared beach and we cannot guarantee that there will not be other guests on the beach who may interfere with your photos.
What are the times for the Wishes Ceremonies?
Ceremony times for the Wishes Ceremonies are at 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 2:30 PM, 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.
What are the times for the Memories Ceremonies?
Ceremony times for Memories Collection events are held Monday – Friday at 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M..*Alohi Point can only be available at 9:00 A.M.

Do I need transportation to the Wedding Lawn?
The Wedding Lawn is located on the grounds of Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa; therefore, you will not need to provide transportation. However, visitors can get around by car rental, shuttle, taxi or O'ahu's public transportation system. Many visitors also enjoy taking bus tours to conveniently explore the Island. Others rent mopeds and motorcycles. But to really experience all that O'ahu offers, visitors should consider reserving a rental car in advance from the Honolulu International Airport.
Taxis are a great way to travel when in a group and the cost can be shared. Taxi stands are located at most major shopping malls, in the business district and at the airport. Note that rather than hailing a cab, finding taxi stands at major shopping malls and businesses as well as calling for pick-ups via hotel concierge or phone is the norm in Hawai'i.
O'ahu's city transportation system is aptly named "TheBus." Fares are reasonable, routes are extensive and there are special visitor passes for multiple day uses. Do you provide officiants?
Yes! An Officiant is included in your Wedding Package, but it is up to the Bride and Groom to select the Officiant of their choice. We have provided a list of Officiants who have performed weddings at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa and are familiar with our locations and facilities.
What is the cost for the officiant?
The cost of the Officiant is included in your Wedding Package; therefore, you will not need to worry about an Officiant fee.

How much is the deposit?
A deposit of $2,000 is required for Wishes Collection ($1,995.00 for Memories Collection) events in order to confirm your event space and begin planning your event and reserving hotel room accommodations at special discounted rates. A signed Letter of Agreement along with a minimum non-refundable deposit will be required to confirm your wedding date. This non-refundable deposit will be applied to the minimum cost requirement of your Disney Wedding.

Can I just have a reception and not a ceremony?
Yes! We do offer reception only packages just as long as they meet our $4,000 Food and Beverage Minimum Requirement.
When can I book my ceremony & reception space?
Ceremony and reception space may be booked one year prior in advance of your event date (based on availability) by calling 321-939-4610 and speaking with one of our Wedding Consultants.
Can I have a site inspection?
Absolutely! We would love to meet with you and show you the unique venue options available for hosting your Disney Fairy Tale Wedding at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa.
How do I obtain a marriage license?
You must obtain an application online, but you must go in person to the Hawaii Department of Health to obtain a marriage license. The fee for a marriage license is $60.00 U.S. currency only payable in CASH at the time of filing the application (fee is subject to change). The address for the Hawaii Department of Health is:

Normal Office Hours are as follows: Monday through Friday between 7:45 am – 3:15 pm except Hawaiian and Federal holidays. Because of Hawaii deficiets the Health Department is opened every other Friday.
Do I have to get a marriage license in Hawaii?
Yes, the state of Hawaii requires couples to get a Hawaii Marriage License prior to their wedding in Hawaii.
What are the minimums to have a wedding/reception at Aulani?
There are two minimums required to host your event at Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa. First, we require a ten (10) night room minimum to be booked by you and your Guests in any combination during your stay. (If you book 25 room nights, a complimentary room night will be available for the Couple.) The second is that each of our Wishes Collection events must be coupled with a reception experience. This could be a Cake & Champagne Reception ($500 minimum), or a private catered meal. Memories Collection couples must have a minimum stay of four (4) nights at Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa.
Can I provide my own photographer, videographer, entertainment and florist?
Your wedding photography is included in the Wedding Ceremony package. We have aligned ourselves with a variety of excellent photographers to choose from, so there is no need to provide your own. Yes, you may provide your own videographer, entertainment, or florist, however a fee will apply.
Can I provide my own food and beverage?
Unfortunately, due to health and safety reasons we do not allow our guests to provide their own food and beverage for their events. However, we can assure you that our world renowned chefs and pastry artists will treat you and your guests to an unbelievable dining experience.
Can I provide my own cake?
Unfortunately, due to health and safety reasons we do not allow our guests to provide their own food and beverage for their events. However, we can assure you that our world renowned pastry chefs will create a beautiful masterpiece that tastes as good as it looks for your Disney's Fairy Tale Wedding.
Do I have to stay at the resort in order to have my wedding at the resort?
Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa reserves our wedding space exclusively for our resort guests! Therefore a ten (10) room night minimum is required to book your Ceremony or Reception at the Resort. These ten (10) room nights can either be utilized in one night or in any other pattern that works best with the flow of your friends and family members stay. We are pleased to offer specially priced room rates available through Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa for you and your wedding guests if ten (10) rooms are booked. If you and your guests book a minimum of twenty-five room nights out of your total number of reserved rooms at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, a complimentary standard room is offered for your wedding night (based on availability). Suite upgrades are available at an additional charge.
Do my guests have to stay at the resort?
Your guests are not required to stay at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa during your wedding festivities; however, we make it simple and affordable for your wedding guests to attend your special Disney event, by offering specially priced room rates available throughout Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa through a special room block. The accommodations of the Bride & Groom also count towards this minimum. Your Disney Wedding Consultant will be happy to discuss this in detail to ensure your comfort level.

Yes! Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa features an 18,000 square feet spa featuring 15 treatment rooms, 2 couples's rooms, and a 2,000 square feet fitness center. There you can take advantage of all the latest spa therapies, treatments, and beauty regimens. And the guys might appreciate a massage, too! You might also want to arrange a massage in the "couples" room for the day after your event -- the ultimate indulgence!
Can I have an outdoor reception/dinner?
Yes! Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa offers 15,000 square feet of space to hold an enchanting reception beside the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. Outdoor venue rental fee will apply.
Can I have my reception in one of the restaurants?
Unfortunately at this time we are only offering a catered reception in one of our unique venue locales. Although, you may arrange/ book a reservation at one of our restaurant options for another day for your party if you are interested in one of our Fine Dining Locations.
What is the weather like?
Weather temperatures on O'ahu averages in the 80's for the highs and in the 60's and 70's for the lows. The temperatures stay pretty consistently throughout all months of the year.
What is the time zone?
The time zone for Hawaii is the Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time Zone. Hawai'i is 5 hours behind Eastern Standard Time, 2 hours behind Pacific Standard Time, and 19 hours behind Tokyo time. Hawai'i does not recognize daylight savings time and will be an additional hour behind standard times.

Will the resort have a salon for hair and makeup?
The spa at Aulani offers a Salon featuring a number of beauty regiments that you may take advantage of prior to your wedding day.
Can I have Disney Characters at my ceremony?
We're sorry, but our famous Disney Characters are not available to participate in the actual ceremony in any way. However, they'd be delighted to attend your reception to mingle with guests, pose for unforgettable photographs, "cut in" on the first dance, and even help you cut the cake. Character appearances are available in 30-minute increments and count toward your minimum Wedding expenditure.

Yes! You are available to upgrade your linens through the florist, however Aulani provides a wide variety of standard linen colors. Please contact your Disney Wedding Planner for more information on upgraded linens available for your Wedding.
Can I provide my own favors?
Yes! You may provide your own favors for your Wedding, up to three different items per guest. If you exceed this number there will be an additional fee for labor, to ensure the setup for your reception gets done in a timely manner.
How do I get my dress pressed?
Included in your Planning Kit will be a list of preferred vendors who have provided formal wear for weddings at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa and are familiar with our locations and facilities. Please contact them directly to set up an appointment to get your dress pressed before the big day. Some vendors may actually come to your Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa guest room so that you don't have to travel with your dress.
Do you have tuxedo rentals?
Included in your Planning Kit will be a list of preferred vendors who have provided formal wear for weddings at Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa and are familiar with our locations and facilities. Please contact them directly to determine if one fits your particular needs.
Will I have a rehearsal?
Yes! The day before your wedding you will meet with your Officiant and Disney Wedding Planner to rehearse for your Wedding Ceremony. During this time your will gather your families and bridal party together either at the Wedding Lawn or an offsite location to practice your trip down the aisle so that everyone know what to do on the big day.
Do I have to have a rehearsal dinner?
No, you do not need to have a rehearsal dinner following the rehearsal. Typically couples gather their families and bridal party together for a dinner following the rehearsal at either one of Disney's onsite restaurants or a catered dinner. If you would like to set up a catered rehearsal dinner please contact your Disney Wedding Planner for further details on this event, or call Disney Dining to make a reservation at one of our fine dining restaurants.

Couples do not need to purchase wedding insurance prior to their wedding day; however, we all know that sometimes things out of our control may happen.
